The Carter Martin Classic achieves record support for the
Aflac Cancer Center!

On Friday, December 5th, Providence Christian Academy presented $103,717 to the Aflac Cancer Center from the proceeds of the 5th annual Carter Martin Classic.  Since that time, additional funds have been raised to bring the 2008 total to $110,000. The funds received from the Carter Martin Classic support the Carter Samuel Martin Innovative Therapy Research Fund to support clinical research directed by Howard Katzenstein, M.D., of the Aflac Cancer Center.  A highlight to the evening was the announcement that with the Carter Martin Classic gift, Carter's fund reached over $1.5 million dollars. With that goal accomplished, Dr. Katzenstein was officially awarded the Carter Samuel Martin Children's Chair for Innovative Therapy. All funds received will forever benefit clinical research.

We need your continued support to ensure children, like Carter, will, in the words of Aflac Cancer Center medical director, Dr. Bill Woods, "Grow up to have their own children to worry about."  You can support the Carter Samuel Martin Experimental Therapy Research Fund by clicking the Online giving button below.  All gifts are 100% tax deductible and will receive an acknowledgement.
